I've written two books; I decided to keep my blog, because healing is like an onion and I want to see the process, I want to be able to come back and read about all these layers and feel as proud as I am right now.

My Hair ... & Colors
My favorite color is blue. I am not sure when coloring my hair became my staple, but I do remember why I dyed my hair the first time; I dyed my hair because of my paleness. Now please do not mistake my need for color for the lack of love for the skin I am beautifully wrapped in; my paleness through Winter might drive me insane but it's my freckles in the Summer that makes it all worth it.

I didn't see the lights of the car speeding behind me, and as we waited on a red-light talking about the Disney song on the radio, I heard the screams of my then 6 and 8 year old, and like poison rushing through my blood stream the only thought in my head was.... God.

Self Conversation
As soon as I saw my schedule empty at 4:00 pm I packed up my backpack and headed home, my intention was to paint the new plant pot I got at home depot, but after walking Lea (my dog) the sun called my name to sit with it a while; and so I did, I sat on the rocks, then on the sand, it shocked me how much my soul needed grounding. As I wrote the sun and I danced, we smiled at one another; thanking each other for the company.

I want to fall in-Love...again.
Like I was six years old, I ran to my living room and picked out a red construction paper and on it I glued a white paper and folded it in half to make a homemade card; I looked up things to write but nothing looked right or sounded right, and so I ventured into writing what I was feeling; yet again, in disillusion, because as much as I wanted this to be a love story, it's a lesson.

I tried again, second chances are far from the branches my sanity can deal with but I tried again, because after all, it was not all one sided; my instability and inability to express myself correctly had me acting like a fool, and so here we are both standing in front of each other questioning next steps; it feels like an HR intervention.

I shaved my hair off today. I didn't wake up and decided to, I sat with it for 2 months since I burned my hair, I was patient and willing to see how it could be repaired; the truth is, I knew I could've repaired the damage, there were options, but in my soul I knew that just like my heart, my hair deserved a new relationship with me, and so here we are starting from scratch.
