The Society Box

Conforming Society

The society box.

A term I use to define the way society has molded people's everyday lives.

Society has come to alter the way people think, act, and socialize with one another.

We as a human race, have made this metaphorical "box" so to speak, that society says we must fit into in order to "belong."

But what really is "belonging"?

You could belong to a type of people, to an organization, to a thought. No one really has a definite definition for the term "belonging," we all interpret it differently.

Although this is true, we all must belong with ourselves before we can truly belong in terms of anyone's definition. Belonging to one's self is knowing who you are as a person and accepting that.

We all come with one mind, one mind that we ourselves should be able to alter.

But over the generations, it has come to be that we have surrendered that power of altering ones mind to society and all the pertains. Millions of people have contributed to the making of this box.

We have come to accept that our minds are no longer our own, our thoughts no longer belong to us, we no longer think for ourselves, we have let society take the reins of our thoughts and mold it however it pleases.

We have evolved into taking part of these so called trends, and by doing so we therefore "belong" with society.

Is this how we want to live our lives? Do we really want to be confined into this box of solitude where we no longer belong to ourselves?

These walls are trapping us in, we are evolving to recognize this as the norm, as if there is nothing wrong with what is occurring.

Most people have lived to block out this box that they are in, to ignore it as if it is not there. Most that pertain in this box, do not even realize they are apart of it, do not even know that they are one in a billion in this conformity. They live their days as if their mind belongs to them, when in fact they have given it over to society.

Those that have realized this and have spoken out about it have been shot down or seen as crazy because they see the situation as it really is, a society with a growing virus.

This virus is not only effecting how we think and live our lives but also how we are interacting with each other. We are more aggressive, less trusting, and blind to the truth of common sense. Yes, we have made progress since the older generations and this generation is seen overall as an "accepting" one but if you live within this generation then you can see that is not always so.

Yes there is more open minded people but it is the little jokes, or comments, or action, that the person outside of the box sees. The individuals outside of the box can see this virus and how it is ruining our society.

They have stepped back from all opinions and have seen what is being done, how we are being confined within these walls of society.

We must break down these walls, we must once again take control of ourselves, take control of our own minds. Thinking for ourselves is how we are ourselves, our thoughts are how we express ourselves, how we distinguish ourselves from one another.

We are our thoughts and if our thoughts are not our own, then who are we?
