It does not matter whether you have called a criminal defense attorney because you have been arrested for a DUI, domestic violent altercation, or even an assault crime, right now going forward, you can start anew…
If you have been a drug addict all of your life, a horrible parent, or even just a bad friend, you can redesign your life however you want to it to be in the future.
I know what you are thinking. You may be thinking I sound like an infomercial... but hear me out. If you are unhappy with where you are in life or where your life is going, change the direction. No matter what people say, redesigning your life is quite simple and my guide will show just that. So, without further ado, here is my guide on how you can create the lifestyle of your dreams.
Step 1: Visualize!
The first step of creating the lifestyle of your dreams... is to know what that lifestyle would look like! You need to create a model for what you want your lifestyle to be like. Let’s start small. What do you want your life to look like in the few months? What about the next year?
Start painting a clearer picture of what you want your life to look like for yourself and be specific. Let yourself have fun with it. Don’t hold yourself back, no matter how preposterous it may seem. Create a better picture of what exactly the perfect lifestyle for you to have would be like.
Start to look at who you are determined to be too. Let go of the baggage from your past and visualize how you want to be as a person by dreaming up a new life.
Step 2: Look at your daily habits.
Now that you have a clearer picture of what your dream lifestyle looks like now it is time to look at the road to get there. Luke Hancock, a self-empowerment coach that teaches a redesign your life course in Chiang Mai, Thailand, insists that the road to attaining your dream lifestyle is to look at your daily habits. Whether you know it or not, your daily habits create your life.

Here, what do you do the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep? Write it down. Do you snooze your alarm? Do you brush your teeth? Do you eat breakfast? Do you watch television? Study? Eat junk food?
Lay it all out. Now, can you see how your current life is made up?! These small, seemingly unimportant daily tendencies make up your current life…
So, how do we create a new life?
Step 3: Research new habits.
Now that you see how your current habits have created your present lifestyle, let’s work on creating that new life you dreamed up in the first step. Look at what habits you would need to attain to create the lifestyle you want?
Do you want to be skinnier? Well, take a look at your eating habits, the portions of food you eat at every meal, and how often you exercise.
Or do you want to have more money? Well, take a look at your spending habits, your saving habits, and your investment habits.
Really take the time to research what habits you can acquire to obtain the lifestyle you want to achieve.
Step 4: Exercise and eat right.
Whether this is a part of your new life redesign plan or not, exercise and eat a cleaner diet. No, this is not to look nicer or to impress anybody, but instead, to help you implement your new habits! When you exercise and eat right, you will feel better all of the time and be more inclined to stick with your new habits.
Think about it. When you feel better and have more focus, you will tend to make better decisions than if you are eating unhealthily and not feeling so good!
Eating right and exercising will trickle down into all the other habits you have in your life so be sure that you do this before you start to implement your new habits. Get in the habit of taking care of yourself! It will be worth it, I promise.
Step 5: Implement your new habits. (You may need to change your environment.)
Now it is time to put those new habits into practice. My advice is to start small. Do not go overboard and try to exchange your old habits to a complete 180-degree new habit right away. Start small.
For example, if you want to be more social and talk to people more, start by making conversation with every cashier at every store or checkout. Ask them how their day was. You don’t want to set your first habit as talk to everybody because of your inexperience, you might set yourself up for failure!
A quick tip when you are implementing your habits is to really take a deep dive into the environment that you are in. What I mean by that is if you want to eat healthier or exercise more, maybe spend more time with people who work out and eat healthily. Habits often become attached to an environment, so if your habits are not serving you to the life you want, think about changing your environment.
