Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe was in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

If you'd like to learn more about birth charts, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or visit my Tumblr page! Right now, I'm completing sample chart readings for free—covering your sun, moon, and rising signs, as well as the planets in your first three houses.

Every birth chart has 12 houses. These are the 12 houses (of the zodiac... I guess), and each house symbolizes something different. I've decided to start a series where I talk about each house of the zodiac, to help everyone learn a little more about themselves! Check out my profile for the other articles on the other houses.

The 6th house in your birth chart represents your work habits, rituals, what you're good at, how you deal with co-workers, and your attitude towards helping others.

If you haven't already gotten your birth chart, I encourage you to go to astro.com and enter your information. The chart is completely free, and it shows you all of your signs and planets and placements. Once you've done that, follow along with me while we explore the sixth house!

This is my birth chart...

As you can see in the picture, there are little numbers on the inside of the circle, near the middle. You'll notice that each number matches a section, and there are little symbols in there. Each section represents a house, and the symbols represent planets. Use the box on the left side to match the images with the planets if you don't already know!

If you're following along with me (and I'm explaining it right), you should be able to tell that my sixth house is empty.

DISCLAIMER: I have gained this information from various sources on the internet. If you see something in here that may be yours and you would like it removed, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Sun in the 6th house: You're afraid of failure and you're afraid of not achieving your dreams. You need to learn to love yourself and establish boundaries. You have a desire to help others through illness and pain because you truly care for them, but you have a tendency to become a doormat. Don't get into the habit of leeching onto the illnesses of others.

Moon in the 6th house: Your mother had a lot of her own fears and probably didn't teach you how to handle disappointment well. She may have tried to heal all of your wounds instead of allowing you to feel the pain. In order to get through your emotions, you work, exercise, or may turn to drugs. You don't like to feel them.

Mercury in the 6th house: You may feel or act anxious or bipolar. You're always aware of your physical surroundings and you remember all of the details, even if you're slow to learn and process.

Venus in the 6th house: When you're in love, you can get "sick" or allow others to suck the life out of you. You choose to love and you work for love, but it may be hard for you. You have a desire to heal all wounds, but you're blessed with good health and a good immune system. Others usually like you.

Mars in the 6th house: You may think you're lazy, but it's completely untrue. You have a lot of daily energy and a high metabolism, as well as high athleticism. You have the ability to combat illness, so you have good health.

Jupiter in the 6th house: You get a lot done and you can pick things up quickly. You may feel caged easily, even though you can fit in anywhere. You need adventure in your life to get out of that daily rut.

Uranus in the 6th house: You're definitely not one to do 9-5. You rebel against the daily routine, and can be quite up and down with your health. You may go through periods of severe illness and depression, and then switch back to great health.

Saturn in the 6th house: Your father may have bestowed only conditional love on you. You got all the praise in the world, but only if you did something the way he wanted. You're a perfectionist because of this. You can get frozen waiting for others to praise you. You may have a hard time staying in shape.

Neptune in the 6th house: You may be prone to psychosomatic illnesses, which is when you develop a physical disease that may be caused by mental factors, such as stress. You do less work than you think you do. You don't focus on how your life actually is, as you prefer to dream about what it should be like.

Pluto in the 6th house: You may have had many near death experiences or have become violently ill. Others fear for your life, but you're a strong survivor. You may have self-destructive tendencies, such as self-harm.

Chiron in the 6th house: You should work to find a meaningful goal in life. You may turn to healing because you are sensitive to energy movements in the body. You are very serious and disciplined. Health can seem like a chore for you.

True Node in the 6th house: You have emotional behavior patterns that you need to overcome, because they take away your life energy. You need to work on seeing life issues without being emotionally swayed. You can overcome any weakness with your confidence. You have the ability to heal, but use it for others.

With an empty 6th house, you won't focus much on organization, chores, and health.

A stellium occurs when there are four or more planets in the same house. With a stellium in the 6th house, you may obsess over jobs and work. You're a perfectionist and need to learn to delegate.

There's always more to learn! The signs on the outer ring of each house also play a part in determining your personality, and I include those readings in my birth charts readings! Thanks for reading and come back next time to learn about the 7th house!
