The Balance Between Positive and Negative Energies

How to Stay Positive

It was said—by Oscar Wild—"no good deed goes unpunished." Positive and negative forces in creation have to roughly balance each other, if the normal laws and rules of physics are to be accurate. God can be said to be the positive energy, Satan the negative; we should always be positive but never stop being vigilant, because the negative is never far away, and is always trying to catch up. If you do a good deed and stop to be proud of yourself, the negative will catch up while you congratulating yourself.

It is never easy staying positive, especially in social groups, families, or working with other people. There is always negativity waiting to feed off the discontent a person feels. It does not matter if the discontent is due to genuine ill treatment or, discontent at not getting all they wish for; negativity will take what it can get.

Failure to express ourselves clearly, especially when interrupting another's thought chain, causes both participants to have negative reactions; one feels aggrieved that they have been disturbed and then blamed for not understanding an unclear statement, while the other is upset because they have not been understood and immediate satisfactory action has not taken place. Negativity takes over, attracts more negativity and unless at least one of those involved is determined to bring back the positive, things will descend to greater and greater negativity. If one says OK let us start again, and be accepting and helpful, then the spiral down is broken and positive influences can restore balance. If then all people involved become positive, things will move in the preferred direction.

How can we be part of the positive forces, attracting the positive energy, while knowing the equally strong negative force is trying to restore a balance?

Everything is ultimately a cycle but human life, compared to the whole of the created universe; is such a tiny thing, and it lasts for the briefest moment in time. There is so much more for negativity to use to keep the overall balance, that we humans need only concern ourselves with our own lives and how to make them positive. Be positive, yet be vigilant for the negative forces acting against you.

Creation is, by its very nature, positive. Expansion, growth, increasing, are all positives. Death and decay are the balancing negatives. By being creative we help creation, this can be in the smallest of ways, it does not mean inventing a grand concept to save human kind, just cooking a good meal from basic ingredients, writing an e-mail to a friend, planting a garden, cleaning that which was dirty, these are creative acts. Being creative is positive, and attracts other positive energies to us.

The universe is so vast that human minds can not really comprehend it, but it is made up of the tiniest elemental particles. Everything is built up from microscopically small parts. This shows that even the smallest positive thought can become part of the larger whole. Just thinking positive about an inconsequential thing is still a positive building block, enjoying your team winning is a positive thing, wishing another team looses, is a negative one.

Stick to wishing your own side success, and you separate positive from negative and push positive energy along. Try making a list of all the things you can be thankful for, as you go through the day, so by the end of each day you have a list of positive thoughts and feelings. Ignore any setbacks and frustrations, only list and dwell on the good and positive things. Even the smallest event, a stranger's smile that pleased you, your train being on time, finding a parking space, the sun shining, all go on the “thank you” list. Focus on the positive things in your life, each and every day. Negativity has a whole universe, in which to find a balance. You have your life, try to make this a positive force and you should attract other positive forces to you. See all negative actions by others, for what they are, minor impediments that your thankfulness at all the other positive things, can overcome.
