That A-Ha! Moment

Waking up to Your True Potential

You know those moments when you're entirely focused on one thing and then your brain suddenly yells, "Eureka!" about something totally different?! It's the realization you've been waiting for and of course it comes when you least expect it and sometimes when you aren't in a moment to process it either. In today's time, we all want so badly to be able to figure things out on our own, to find that instant gratification in whatever it is we're pursuing. But, sometimes that's not what the path life has planned for us. Sometimes we need someone on the outside put in our path to hear our story and be able to put their wisdom to use.

Insert personal experience:

About three weeks ago, I was on a total high... high on life, folks, high on life. I was in the midst of coming out of a rather tough period and was recognizing that life was taking care of me. I was feeling blessed, comforted and motivated. My energy was booming. Everything in my world was changing, shifting. I was waking up day after day having no clue what the day was going to hold but fully trusting in the process. I knew I had decisions to be making and opportunities to take. However, no amount of trust or excitement over endless possibilities meant things were lined up and I had a set plan. There was this little bit of fear in the back of my mind about what was actually going to happen.

That's when it was time I learned a valuable lesson.

I wake up on the most beautiful, sunny Tuesday morning. I am feeling like a million bucks and know that it's going to be a productive day... whatever that means when you have no clue exactly what you're going to be doing, HA. Anyways, realizing I'm out of coffee and being the avid coffee lover that I am, I decide I need to make a coffee run. I didn't feel like getting myself fully put together to head to my favorite local spot, Blackbird, so I decide to settle on the Starbucks in Kroger, just down the road. I throw on some running shorts, a t-shirt and roll with it. It's a normal Tuesday morning for most of the world so I'm not going to see anyone I know, right? Wrong!

As soon as I walk in I immediately see someone I haven't seen in many months. I was just going to wave and say hey, get my coffee and head out. Well, he stands up from his table of friends so I know this means, "let's chat." I decide to get over myself and walk over to talk. And.I.am.so.glad.I.did.

Due to a close mutual friend he knew that I was in the midst of major moves so he quickly inquired. As we're standing there discussing all that life has been dealing, I realize I am feeling so confident and happy in expressing myself and my goals. Until I make one statement that changed everything: "I hope it works out."

That's when I hear the words, "Maggie, why wouldn't it work out? You can make it work out."

Done. Mic drop. Shrink to 1 inch tall. Hello darling, WAKE UP and SMELL the coffee you're about to drink!!

Luckily, instead of crawling inside a shell, the skies opened up and I knew he was right. I realized I wasn't recognizing my full potential to make life happen. It was then that I knew I could choose to let the power within me be stronger than the circumstances surrounding me.

Folks, life knows when you are trying. It knows when you are on the right path and when you just need a little help. Let yourself receive it. No, not all your plans will work out just because you want them to, or you put all your efforts into something, making sacrifices, doing all the things to manifest what you want. But, your efforts will get you where you need to be.
