Erick Godsey speaks to Tim Adalin on Voiceclub.

Erick Godsey is a human being I'm particularly glad exists. That's just how it is. I feel the intention he has to impact people and the world for the better. And I see a fragment (but a real fragment), of that intention actualise into bonafide artefacts you can interact with right now.

In listening to or reading Erick's thoughts you'll find an evolving selection of psychological insight synthesised into bites that prompt genuine reflection and roadmaps for self-directed growth. You can access a selection of these on his website.

Most importantly, as far as I'm concerned, he endeavours to show up in authenticity and integrity. There's a self-revelatory nature to Erick's presence online—the expression of his own story—that seems somehow necessary to me as we see new models of adaptive social systems tenderly germinate.

There will be many pitfalls along the way of that process. The work and play of unearthing our own nature, of witnessing the stories we've hitherto been playing out unawares, of attempting to create new ones more fitting of love... this ongoing process of growth comes at times with a short term price of shame and burning tinged with the barrier and doorway of uncertainty...

This of course goes for us all.

But there's something about sharing that journey as Erick does that's at once a beacon of inspiration and also a self-assumed responsibility which has at least one hand clasped to a sacrifice of a kind. The nature of that sacrifice is not clear enough for me to state, though I don't mean to suggest it be construed in a negative light non-conducive to growth.

I don't like making too many statements that end in full stops. I don't really like proclaiming at all—though I'll have to clarify that thought another time. But this is a good dude with shit to teach that's helpful, in a language most people can understand.

This is a dialogue that I hope is relatable and deeply valuable. I invite you to take up the creative spirit of this conversation and consider the insight and metaphors with a generative mind.

Perhaps it'll be a portal for you to check out more content with Erick — through his podcast, The Myths That Make Us, through his appearances on the Aubrey Marcus podcast, through his online course.

Erick, I apologise to the extent these words are a pedestal. But I say it only because I trust your capacity to detangle yourself from whatever isn't yours to be tangled-for-a-time with.
