Never let society stop you from appreciating yourself!

We are always been told many things in our lives. Some we like, some we don’t. But sometimes the things that we don’t like affects us in a way that makes us feel out of the place. Though we never show it, deep down, it hurts. It hurts to listen to people talking about us. Yes, people say positive things too, but dissenting the things said sometimes overpowers our mind. Moreover, there are that kind of people too who try to maintain an image of not caring what people say, but inside this thing kills them.

We all live in a place, where we are society’s pet, always seeking their judgments, agreeing with their thoughts, and following their opinions about us blindly without giving what we want a thought.

Society has wrapped us all so tight in its arms, that now we have started believing that if we remove its hands from our shoulder, we might not be able to stand on our own. And that’s quite true, since what we call society is only made up of US, we people. But what we forget is to differentiate between facts and opinions, and that’s where we even fail to understand and to believe in ourselves.

We often let the society dictate us and allow it to involve in our life so deep, that one day that society, that people who claim to wish for your welfare are the ones to tear us apart from the roots, from who we actually are. But that’s not quite our fault, we are brought up in that surrounding where we are made to believe that our reputation is important. And reputation itself means social approval. But what we don’t understand is false reputation is poisonous. We often seen people do things just to maintain the image they have worked so hard to gain but ends up losing everything. Honestly, this reputation thing is quite a tricky business. It takes a lot from us, numerous good deeds to earn it, but even one small mistake and it’s snatched away from you. And that’s the point where we feel like it’s the end of the world. It's like all the people you knew, who once claimed to care about you, turned their back on you. We all make mistakes and that’s okay, what matters is that we don’t repeat it.

The point here is, we all believe that it’s our battle against society. Our battle to satisfy all the things that are expected of you. But it’s not, it’s the battle with ourselves. People will always have something to say, and they will always have different opinions no matter what you do is right or wrong anyway. No one knows us better than we, ourselves, hence choice is always going to be ours to make, so it’s our responsibility to consider everyone's sayings as suggestions and choosing what’s right for us.

Life is not about proving ourselves right to the people who think we’re in wrong. Life is about appreciating. Appreciating smalls things, appreciating where you are, what we have, but most importantly it’s about Appreciating yourself.

Everyone in this world is different and unique in their own way. Hence there are several different views to see the world, no two people can ever have the same views on each matter, but that doesn’t make anyone right or wrong. We all go through such situations in our day to day life, where we think we were wrong and sometimes regret doing it. And that’s okay if we feel this way, that’s quite natural, but what’s important is how fast we move on from it. Regretting is not going to change anything but what we do next may make things better. We always have a choice and what we chose to do will determine who we are!

Hence, life is worth living only when you live it up to your own terms and with people who truly care about you and stands beside you even in dark times.

So, for all people who are going through the same phase, Always remember to appreciate yourself first for society to appreciate you!
