Mandatory To Do List for 2018
Start doing these things and you are guaranteed a year for the books!
1) Love Yourself
2018 is YOUR year. Stop comparing yourself to those Instagram models and celebrities. Be happy with what you have, what you look like and the life you live. Life is way too short to be worried about things that do not matter. If you spend too much time on other people, make time for yourself. Do what you have to do to help yourself grow. You are YOU and that is enough. Self love all 2018.
2) Live in the Moment
Put your phone down (yes, I know, I'm asking a lot). Be aware of the world and what is happening around you. Join into conversations and socialize with others. If someone asks you to do something fun but you are too tired, go anyways. You can sleep when you are dead (sounds morbid, but it's true!). Seize the day; you never know when it might be your last.
3) Take Risks
Wouldn't you rather say oops than what if? Go for your dream job and say I love you first; if you do not try you will never know. Buy that outfit you know you want but you think other people will judge. Cut your hair if you feel like it (hair grows back!!!). Risk failing and making a mistake; we learn and grow best from those.
4) Be Patient
Good things and better days are coming, I promise! Give things time, nothing happens overnight (except for maybe sleep). Most things are difficult before they are easy. Keep working at what you are going for. You will see results after time. Success and happiness are coming, just do not give up.
5) Create More Art
If you love to write or draw, share that part of your soul with the world. Start writing a book and show all of your friends. If you have poems you have written but are nervous they are not good, show them off anyways. Take a painting class or go out and photograph what you love. Do not keep that hidden. The Earth without art is just "Eh."
6) Drink A Great Deal of Water
Sounds like a weird one, but trust me, your skin will be glowing! Water is so cleansing and honestly you can never have enough (this is technically false because it is possible to get hyponatremia). Just do not chug a gallon of water, though. Once you start drinking lots of water, you will feel so much more refreshed and energized. When the body is working the best, that is when you are feeling the happiest.
7) Smile Often
To be honest, smiling just makes you feel so much better. Smiling at someone and brightening their day is such an amazing feeling. You can find millions of reasons to smile every day, like: feeling the warm sun hit your skin, getting to drink your cup of coffee in the morning, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, snuggling with your puppy, finally finishing your Netflix series you have been watching for what feels like years, or getting to take a bath using a new bath bomb you got.
8) Stop Taking Life So Seriously
Brush off the things that are stressing and worrying you. Dance around in your underwear and sing to old Jonas Brother songs (an everyday occurrence for myself). Go climb up a hill with your friends and then roll down it and get covered in grass. Who cares if you have to pick it out of your hair all night. Stop what you are doing and make time to watch the sunset. Laugh it off. One test will not kill you.Who cares what those girls/boys think? Do what makes YOU happy.
