Blog # 1

So I don’t really know what I’m doing but that’s okay and I hope that reading my blogs will show you that we might be in the same boat and that can always feel reassuring that you are not the only one and you are not going through this alone. So hey, let’s give this a shot! Today I’m gonna talk about how you gotta live your life the way you wanna live it.

Everybody will always have something to say—whether it’s about how happy they are for you to how you’re not doing right by life and need to do something else. Trust me, I have first hand experience.

Ever since I was a little girl I was told I wasn’t good enough, that I wasn’t gonna become anything in life, but I proved those people wrong. They told me I probably wouldn’t graduate high school and guess what? I graduated and I graduated with honors. They told me so many things and I proved them wrong, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

"Who’s they?” you might ask.

“They” are the people who should be pushing you to live life to its fullest, to accomplish things in life and to do what makes you happy—anywhere from your teachers, coaches, grandparents, friends, family and especially your parents. But ok I understand that “they” have their best interests in mind but what I don’t understand is why people think they can tell you that once you graduate it’s off to university then settle down, have kids, and maybe travel if you have the chance. They may not even be telling you exactly that, but it is basically an unspoken rule that today's society is having to go through. But why can’t we go travel, figure out who we are as a person, and then school if that’s what we choose? And hey, if you feel like settling down then by all means do it, but it should not be something that is frowned upon by so many. We need to change that unspoken rule and stop throwing ourselves to the wolves to fail or feel like a failure when we do something any normal human would do. It is okay to take a wrong turn, get lost, feel lost for that matter, and not know what to do next because that is the way life should be. Unplanned. If you plan out every step or if someone plans it out for you, 9/10 times you will feel like you failed because at the end of the day, life happens and yes sometimes it sucks but sometimes it can be so rewarding.

You are human and you’re allowed to feel that way.

So on that note, don’t forget you can’t make everyone happy but you have to always put yourself first, and let’s change that unspoken rule!

**If you like my blog, let me know! I’ll keep writing and it will probably be about a little bit of everything. I am not saying that I know what I’m doing because trust me I don’t, but I am just here to let you know that you aren’t alone in this.
