I Failed

Cheat days are horrible.

Hello my little lovelies!

So I wanted to make this post because I realized I never really talk or write about what happens when my cravings override my willpower and it's not your cheat day. It's not often but it does happen. I feel like if I'm going to share my journey to being healthy and fit with you guys I have to be honest with my struggles too. I don't want to post about just the successes because I don't want people who are also trying to be healthy think that it's going to be a piece of cake. It's honestly not a piece of cake.

So the first time I caved to my cravings was a couple of weeks after I got home from seeing my husband graduate from boot camp. For the past two weeks I had been eating clean, lost a couple of pounds and I felt great. Then I saw a picture of some beautifully cooked fried chicken. After that I lost it. But because I was horrible at cooking fried chicken I went and ordered a full fat laden, sodium filled Chinese feast. When the food got here I had never felt more excited. And when I took that first bite of food, I didn't care about the weight I lost or the work I had just destroyed I was just so happy to eat some real food with real flavor. The food was absolutely delicious. It didn't matter that I was probably going to gain back the weight I lost and maybe a little bit more. I was just so happy to eat that delicious, delicious, wonderful food. I ordered about $25 worth of food, that's how crazy I went. I was happy eating it at that moment but boy I didn't feel that way the next morning when I woke up.

When I woke up the next morning, I felt absolutely disgusted. I just felt like a big pile of crap. I felt even worse when I saw how much weight I gained just from that one meal alone. I was completely mortified. I was so mortified I went to the gym and just worked out like my life depended on it. Since then I have made sure to only eat those foods on my scheduled cheat days, which is usually Friday or Saturday. It's been quite difficult but I see the results and I keep going as best as I can. Now do I have caved in a couple of times but I am trying my hardest to not cave in and it's become a set pattern, normally on paydays when I have money to splurge. But when I have those cravings now I usually replace it with a healthier version of that unhealthy food I want.

When you I have those days I have to find a way to come back. And it's not a matter of looking like Kate Upton or any other model out there. It's about having confidence in yourself and feeling good about yourself. I mean looking like a model would be a bonus but I am doing this so I can feel good about myself and have more confidence in myself.

So it's okay if you're not perfect. You're going to make mistakes along the road. The important thing is how you fix it and move on. I've had to stop beating myself up over days like that because it didn't do any good moping over them when I could go out and just go to the gym and work it out. So don't stress, just pick yourself back up and get going.
