It's time to fly, little bird.

You're a star child meant to glow

Finding yourself stuck in the same place? Progression sabotage comes in many forms which can weigh you down, causing depression, a lack a self-worth, and maybe even a lack of life fulfillment. We often even know where it's coming from but are too afraid to admit it. That's where I, your fairy godmother, come in to tell you the real. Need that weight off your shoulders? Let's shed these pounds together. Here are some tips for becoming a better you.

1. Feel your feelings.

Why do we make it seem like to be positive we have to BE POSITIVE. like no, I'm allowed to be upset, jeez. They've killed off another one of my favorites on The Walking Dead. Idris Elba is off the market! I'm allowed to go through the motions! If we don't allow ourselves to feel, especially in these times, it all may erupt later in the worst way. Or worse, if you're like me, your body will internalize it, causing health problems down the road. We live in a world where bad is happening every day and all around us and little by little we are becoming numb to it. Sharing it on social media, creating memes. So please, feel those emotions. Embrace them because they are a part of who you are. Expressing them is way healthier than suppressing them.

2. Reevaluate your way of thinking.

Now, with that being said, not every trail you go through breaks you. There are situations that shackle a person momentarily, events that can scar a person determining their future. But GIRL, come on! Stop making everything that happens to you a tragedy, posting on social media every negative thought you feel.

"This just ain't my day."

"I see who my real friends are."

"I hit my toe on the corner of the bed again... Goodbye, cruel world."

STOP! One minute you're talking about how great life is and the next you're complaining! You're sending your Facebook friends through the same emotional rollercoaster! Not knowing whether to put the laughing emoji or attach the number to the suicide prevention hotline. That ain't cute. Depression is a real thing. It cripples the mind, forcing you to feel the lowest at times, and the emptiest at times. Depression is not a fad. Pick your battles. Life can be an amazing place if you let it. If you realize that you've been stuck in the same situation...reevaluate your life... Negative mind fosters negative energy, which grows into negative outcomes. Tired of that word yet? Good, well stop living in its shadow.

3. Go out of your comfort zone.

The theories of life and death are infinite, but with your knowledge of the here and now, how would you like to spend what life you have? It's always the same story, "shoulda, woulda, coulda," but I didn't. Why? It is because you're comfortable. Comfortability is safe, but that doesn't mean happiness. We often stay in situations that we are "comfy" in, "but aren't satisfied with life, but are afraid of change, but can't figure out why we aren't making any progress." Jeez, that's a run-on! But I wanted to show you how crazy the mind looks when it's confused as to why, why it's not reaching its full potential. It's like watching all of Game of Thrones and opting out of the last episode. 😒 Yeah. Or, like being an amazing singer-songwriter and the only person to see it is your journal. 😒 Yeah. Or complaining about your weight while laying on the couch eating trash until you pass out. 😒 Yeah. See, that's just not gonna work anymore. If your dreams and goals scare you, then congratulations! That means you're doing the right thing in pursuing them.

4. Surround yourself with like-minded body and soul.

One of the biggest setbacks in life are the people you surround yourself with. You need to surround yourself with people like you. Like minds = growth. You'll support each other and that's what's important with trying to build a positive life. If they don't seem interested in your dreams and passions, trash 'em.

Reason being, we often feel the need to have "friends." So desperate for a companionship, we accept anything that latches on. Now, there are friends and there are "soul suckers" wrapped in friendships clothing; ready to hear your good news so they can absorb it, twist it, corrupt it, and feed it back to you in the form of fake, "I'm so happy for you's." Don't believe me? Evaluate your current situation. If you and your friends seem to be making moves at the same time, prospering in whatever your goals are or at least inspiring each other to reach those goals, then you have a friend. If you have dreams and aspirations and your friends don't seem all that interested, they may even make fun of you, may divert the conversation from you to them. 👀 Surround yourself with people who inspire you. Who you aspire to be. Not someone to feel the void of loneliness.

5. Choose you.

That's perfectly fine! We are all guilty of stretching our skin way too thin and caring way too much about others. Caring is amazing, but not at the expense of your journey. It's OK to choose yourself. I give you permission. In doing so you learn more about who you are and what you're capable of becoming.

You're an extraordinary being who deserves to feel as such, and the toxic air around you is only toxic because you allow it. Let those relationships go. Let "Fake News" go. How can you grow in the darkness? So many times I've let outside forces ruin my chances of happiness, change, and growth.

We can't do that anymore. How are we living our life with other people in control?

Hope this was insightful and helps you move in the best direction for you. Thank you so much for reading this and can't wait to share more ✌🌻
