In flow Albuquerque New Mexico

We are halfway through this year and so much closer to 2020 than we know, flow is a state that humans get to enter if they choose it. Why not? Why not break the cycles of what society continues to feed us? Why not step into the space of presence and look into who you are and what is your purpose? The answers to the question I seek are inside of me. Always, in all ways. In the times where the world and specifically our country (USA) feels lost, hopeless, and uneventful, NOW is the time to tap into the person that was born and CAN make a difference in this world. One person is all it takes to change an experience or situation for all and although it may seem impossible, it is very possible for you or I to make that difference. My favorite way to tap in is... HOOP DANCE.

The art form or flow arts of hoop dance is intoxicating. The Hula Hoop was created in the 1950 and now, in 2019, women and men all over the world use hula hoops to connect with flow. I had the opportunities to meet women and men from different countries who practice hoop dance. the opportunity was given to me because I worked flow arts festivals and music festivals.

It’s that feeling you get when “time and space do not exist.” You are fully engulfed in the moment. Nothing more, nothing less. I started my hoop dance healing path 7 years ago and before I picked up that tube of plastic, I was lost. Anxious, afraid, asking myself “what can I do to not feel this pain or feel numb?” I was abusive to myself and projected my feelings of rejection onto others. I wanted to die, I wanted to feel nothing, I wanted to punish my family and those that hurt me by killing myself. I chose to live. I watched a video on YouTube that inspired me to play and play like I was a child again. The women and men I saw on the screen looked at peace... like they knew every move without hesitation or thinking. The past was irrelevant, the future was non existent, only the present mattered. Flow!

I practiced for six months eight hours of the day on my art. I tapped in and I haven’t stopped. I had the privilege to be a part of flow communities that focus on the present, knowing that the creative being is inside of all of us, and the ability to change my automatic will take time and it is possible. My mission is to support people with connecting to themselves, letting go of control, self limiting beliefs, ideas of what a person that is not you created, and step into the beautiful and sophisticated being that you and I are. Flow arts saved me. It created a way for me to see how truly beautiful I am. It’s an extension of all that is possible and more. It is my pleasure to be present, loving, and nurturing to my body. Flow creates longevity, connection, oneness, and love. When I love myself, i cannot harm another being. When I know myself, I know others. When I see myself, I see you.

What is your flow? What makes you feel freedom in your body. It is not something that is a chore or an obligation. It is not out there, it is inside of you. It is that thing that makes you excited to create and share. Time is precious and fleeting. Now is the time to connect to you... Who are you and what forms of self care do you love to do?
