Declutter Your Life

The Importance of Releasing Self-Doubt

January is usually the time where we try to start fresh with new goals or habits. April rolls around and we try to get rid of all our things that we don't need/want anymore and make room for summer items. Doing these things and starting over is so refreshing for your house, closet and all things materialistic, but what about your mind? What things are you still holding onto that you know you need to let go? When are you going to start making room for new things to fill your mind and help you flourish into the person you want to become.

Holding onto things that need to be released can be detrimental for our mental wellness and overall development. That time you weren't voted class leader in 5th grade? Let that self doubt go and run for the president of your club or organization. Got chosen over for the promotion at your job? Prove to them that they made a mistake and apply for the position that's above that one.

Don't let the one time something didn't go in your favor cause you to fear to try again. I always looked at something not going in my favor as "you weren't meant for that, you were meant for greater." That phrase is what keeps me going.

When you're faced with a new challenge and you hesitate on acting upon it, think about what led you to that point. What in your past has damaged that part of your confidence so bad that you're afraid to try again? Accept what has happened, create a new mindset and go for it!

If you would've told me two years ago that I would be starting a blog, I would've looked at you like you were crazy. I was always so afraid of not being heard that I didn't want to put my talents to use. After I took a look in the mirror, I told myself, "You were just surrounded by the wrong crowd. Your new audience will do nothing but listen."

Not only is your mind a place that toxic thoughts live but that "wrong crowd" you surround yourself with in your daily life also need to released. If you find yourself holding yourself back because of a person/group of people, dismiss. If you notice that you're always the butt of the joke and you feel attacked, dismissed. If you feel any way other than happy and free around any person(s), they need to be dismissed or you can dismiss yourself.

Unfortunately, we often forget to take care of our minds because we get so caught up in the ways of the world and think, "That's just the way I am." It's not. Don't be afraid to isolate yourself for awhile to get your life figured out. Those who love you will understand and will want that for you.

Your mind deserves to be set free from those negative boundaries because you deserve to go higher than before. Fear is natural but use that fear to elevate your life, to become the best you that you can be. You are destined to be a leader. You are destined for more. Dig deep and clean out your mind in order to make room for how you can accomplish all that you've ever wanted to. You have it in you, you just have to declutter to find it.
