Change Is One Decision Away

Have you ever looked at your life and wondered... “How did I get here?” or better yet, “How do I get out of this insanity that I’ve created for myself?” Don’t you wish you could just change it all? Well, the good news is, you are only one decision away from change.

It’s so easy to get caught in moments of our lives where we come to a place where we feel stuck. We feel that we have plateaued and life seems to come to a stand still. Many times we blame our circumstances, relationships, upbringing, and experiences, but the truth is, we are the ones who create our reality. This is something that is hard to accept at times, but still it’s true.

My Story

I personally have gone through many things in my life and I even tried to kill myself when I was 23. I had given up! I blamed people, the world, my family, my circumstances, etc. You name it, and I blamed it.

Something happened when I tried to shoot myself that totally transformed me. I pulled the trigger and the gun misfired. Talk about second chances. Although I didn’t realize how a moment of divine intervention would change my life forever at that time, I knew that there was a reason why I was still here.

That series of events led me to a really deep place within myself and that's when something in me woke up. All of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks. Although I had been abused, molested, and had hid my pain behind a bottle or other substances... one thing stood out to me. I chose to respond in a way that created even worse circumstances. I chose to be the victim. I chose to give my power away to situations, circumstances, and other people’s ideas and perspectives of me.

It was in that time, that I realized and awakened to my power to change my own story. You see, I had played the victim, and I had lived a lie. I fought to hold on to my victim status by playing the blame game and not acknowledging how I was choosing to give up and failing to respond.

I made a decisions in October of 2003 that I would no longer sacrifice any more moments of my life. I decided that I would decide in each moment thereafter that I had been blessed with an opportunity to change my story. It would no longer be a story of defeat, but instead I would choose to fight for meaning, purpose, and victory in my life. I would make each moment mean something.

What I realized was that, if I wanted to create a new reality, then in every moment, I had to respond in a way that would create change in every moment. I decided that change was going to be in my hands from that day forward. I decided that I would no longer play the victim. I decided to take back my power.

The Power of Choice

Why do I share all of this? Well, it’s because I want you to know that no matter where you are, what you have been through, or what circumstances you have faced... in this moment you have the power to make the same choice that I did all those years ago, and in every moment since. In this moment, you have the power to change your decisions. You have the power to choose what each blessed moment of your life will mean, because your story is only over when it’s over. If you are still here, you can choose in each moment if you are going to be defeated and be a victim of circumstances or if you are going to start living your life to be the change that is needed to create a new reality.

You have to power to choose right now... What will you do? Will you stay on this insane cycle that you are on, or will you rise to the occasion and treat your breath and the moments that come as something valuable? In this moment, you have a decision to make. No matter where you are, or who you are, what do you want your story to say? What do you want your life to be?

I’m not saying it’s all going to be easy. However, what I am saying is, if you truly want it bad enough, and you truly want to rise, you have the power to. In this moment you can choose to be the change, or you can choose to be the same... What will you choose? I believe in you, and it’s time for you to believe in you also!

Seize the moment.

Every moment is a new opportunity to make a new decision. Every decision or non decision creates a reality. Every action has an equal or opposite reaction. How you respond in every moment will change something in your life. You want to see a more positive life? Well, it’s time to make more positive and conducive decisions right now! Don’t let another moment pass you by. It’s time to awaken to your power right now!

Right now is the most powerful moment you have in your life, because right now is all there is. The past is gone. All were past moments of now in which you made decisions that brought you to where you are in this moment of now. The future is simply moments of right now that you have yet to manifest based on how you respond in this moment. It’s time to start seizing the moments of your life. It’s time for you to take your power back! Only you can do that, so dig deep and make this moment count! The next moment is not promised, so make this moment right now a victorious moment!
