Keep a tight grip on the things in life you want to remember.

(Seriously)

We’re living in a country where our government believes that fighting war with war will stop people from going to war, a government that thinks educating our nation's children with the knowledge of BIDMAS is more important than educating them with the knowledge of how tax and wages work, and how to go about budgeting your money so that when it comes to renting or buying a property you don’t end up in a shit storm of debt; a government that’s more interested in piling tax on to products containing sugar or cigarettes than fixing our pothole filled roads.

See, the country we live in is such a twisted and backwards place that absolutely nothing makes sense. We fight hate with hate, then preach about how we want to help these situations and make things better. We defend rapists and sexual predators by saying that females are all sluts and wear provocative clothing, causing such attacks, when we should be offering mental fucking help to rapists and victims to stop these things from occurring.

The healthcare industry in this country is so short and underfunded that we are neglecting our people because the government won’t increase funding because they have "more important things" to focus on than those who have fought to bring greatness and pride to our country in their earlier days. The government charges tens of thousands of pounds for the nursing training but offers free training and accommodation whilst doing so to those who will go and fight in countries of lesser wealth to prove a point. We live in a country where it is easier to get hold of class A drugs than it is to get a bed in a hospital because our systems are so incredibly fucked.

We live in a country where we preach about loving our fellow people, yet throw hate crimes around like it’s nothing, and we are a very difficult nation to please, despite fighting to prove otherwise. Nothing you do is going to please those you want to please. Nothing you do is going to make people value you any more than they do already. No amount of money entering your bank account on payday is going to change the way our world works, so you may as well buy the fucking shoes that you’re literally never going to wear but they’re soooo nice you can’t just leave them there in the shop. You may as well eat the cake and three takeaways in a day because it’s easier, and who gives a shit if you gain a little weight? You may as well skip a class to catch up on your sleep, or to make sure a friend is okay after some bad news, because you never know when things will turn sour, and you never know which moment will be your last moment of happiness.

What I’m trying to say is, cherish every little thing while you can—after all, you won’t remember the times you didn’t go out because you "couldn’t really afford it," or the times you didn’t get the tattoo because you worried about what everybody else may think. You’re never going to remember the boys you didn’t kiss in fear of losing a friend somewhere along the way because the truth is, there’s nothing to remember when you lead a monotone life. You’re going to remember being young and being reckless, and staying out later than you were allowed.

Keep a tight grip on the things in life you want to remember.
