Be the Black Sheep

Many of us “sheep” of society choose to base our everyday life and actions on whatever’s going on in the world. We always find ourselves going everyday with the flow of society. It’s easier to make friends and get followers that way anyways right..? While very few of us “black sheep” of society rather go the hard way. If you asked me I say it's the hard way or the highway; Following a blind society is something that kills our energy, beats us into depression, and drives us to be anxious. Tell me, where does your happiness truly lie? I highly doubt its in following some of the latest trends in society.

There was a time where being our happiest meant being ourselves, but society has stomped on our own reflections so much that sometimes being ourselves is the ugliest most depressing thing we could ever be; now doesn’t just the thought of that make you cringe or a bit sad. We choose not to go places because society or not to stand up because of what everyone else will think, when the only thing that should be determining our next move is that gut feeling. You know that gut feeling I'm talking about, don’t be ignorant, us as humans know when something isn’t right and sometimes we do act on our gut but there's countless times I myself have sat back, too anxious to act on my gut because it all comes back to society... Right? We all wanna live everyday without the pressures of society; lets face it, its not all that hot and kinky when society breathes down our necks.

Some of us manage to get through every day with confidence in our step and a smile on our face, without a care in the world about what others think, because who should care what others think? Even though deep down we occasionally get that sinking feeling of who is watching me? Or what if they think ..dot, dot, dot.. you can fill in that blank for yourself, but let me tell you, none of it matters! Heck, I have to convince myself of this everyday! So here’s some advice for you:

If you’re driven to do something, to pursue what you want, to go out and make this small world a bit bigger, you DO IT. Nobody’s opinion should ever have the power to shut you down and stop you. Just because everyone else is afraid to fall of mountains doesn’t mean you can’t climb them. Your life is YOUR life right? You can’t ever forget that you have the freedom right in this moment right now to make it what you want, nobody is allowed to hold you back from your dreams. No relationship, no relatives, nobody. You have the power to do what you want, you can travel the world, get on that boat and never come back, get in that car and keep driving, you go to that University you’ve always dreamed of and you stay on your grind.

Only YOU have the power to change your life, to set and direct your path, to be who you truly are and not your’s or anyone else’s weaknesses and fears should ever hold you back. My advice is to find what drives you, what motivates you and reach for the stars, climb mountains, whenever you’re alone in this life and you trip, YOU help yourself back up and when you get up you let that fall be more of a reason for you to go out and happily pursue your life. Take back your beautiful reflection from society, this is your life! Live it good, live it strong, live it well, because this is the only life you’re given and there is no going back. You’ve got this dreamer. I believe in you.
