If you were to go around a room full of people and ask them what success means to them, the definition would differ every time. Success changes over time; it is so charged with emotion that it takes on many different forms. Success can mean anything to anyone. Success can lie within the family, within work and business, and others measure it by wellness.

You will never find a proper definition of the word "success" because it’s something you set for yourself. Everyone has their own dreams and goals in life and to be successful in those, we must be live by some rules which will help us to become even more successful than we are.

Many say it starts with a dream but if we have a vision then that’s what matters. Our dream/vision will only become reality with a plan. Many of us want to work on self-improvement, developing ourselves and pushing yourself to stick to the goals you have set yourself.

Here are a few simple rules you should live by if you want to become the success you dream of.

1. Keep it simple.

Our mind has a habit of overcomplicating things in many things that we do. From the things that we keep on our desk to the mental habits we preoccupy ourselves with. De-clutter everything you can think of every week and think carefully about the things you need to stop and cut out.

A bad habit possibly, something unhealthy? Anything which doesn’t bring you good and puts you down. Set a clear vision and communicate clearly, write down your goals for the coming week and don’t complicate things by overthinking.

If you want to be successful, you need to make your journey as simple as you can.

2. Whatever you say, DO.

Never be one of those people who says they will do something but never does it. If you’re going to set yourself targets and goals, then you need to achieve them and make sure you do everything in order to complete them. A little day by day can add up to huge success and you need to be known as someone who sticks to their word.

3. Don't rely on others.

You should never expect someone to do something for you, not even your friend, partner, or boss. Everyone is busy in their own world. No one will achieve your goals for you, which is why you should create a habit of doing everything yourself and never be left as burden on someone else for a simple task. Of course, people will help and assist you, but remember tha it’s all on you.

4. Eliminate your fear.

Everyone has a fear of something, and it’s completely natural, whether we admit it to ourselves or not. However, fear can hold us back. Successful people don’t let their heads rule their hearts, and they often embrace fear. Fear of something usually means you should go for it. The more we hold our fear back the more it increases.

5. Reprogram your mind.

Our mind is amazing, and we can reprogram it to achieve anything we want, tricking yourself into new habits and reinforcing them with rewards are some of the things our mind can do.

Start by planting new ideas and concepts in your brain, telling yourself about the things you wish to achieve and complete.

Create your own vision board of how you feel once you’ve achieved something you’ve wanted to. They will act as a compass, guiding when you feel distracted or unmotivated.

6. Make time work for you.

Time management is everything. If it’s something you are struggling with, then it’s something you need to restrategize and plan better for. First, you need to spend one week measuring your time and how you spend it. Record what you do and when you do it, including things like time on your phone. At the end of the week add up your time spent—what did you get done? Where can you improve?
