To live a peaceful, happy life would be a dream. But how in the world are we supposed to obtain that when everything else in the world seems wrong?

Today, I am going to be sharing with you what helped me create the peaceful life I have now. But first, let me tell you a little bit about me.

A month ago, I didn't know what living a peaceful life was. I would wake up feeling dense, unhappy, and moody. Which did not help me create a peaceful life. I spent a lot of time rushing through tasks trying to get done as much as I could in the day. I was exhausted and all I wanted was a little break—just a little something to make me feel less crazy. A lot of people live their lives this way and it's so exhausting.

Having this mentality and energy made me so upset with myself. As the sensitive being I am, I was aware of what I was putting out there and I really didn't like it because I couldn't grab ahold of myself no matter how much I tried. So, I gathered myself the best I could and I set myself out to create a grounding routine that would bring me peace.

I knew I had to do something about this because I let it get out of control. The energy I was carrying around felt so heavy that I began to affect the people around me. There is only so much words can do to bring someone peace. An actionable plan needs to be put in place so we can maintain that peace.

What is a peaceful life?

To live in peace is to live in harmony. When we are at peace with ourselves, we are in harmony. There is an undeniable energy that flows through you—oozes out of you like fairy dust. People around you will feel this energy you are radiating. Because when we put time and energy into taking care of ourselves, we begin to feel better, look better, and we even begin to attract better. You see, to have a peaceful life, we must first look within.

How can I be a more peaceful person?

In order to be more peaceful in your life, you must put an actionable plan in place. The way I maintain my inner peace is through creating grounding rituals or practices that make me feel my best. You have to be willing to take the first step towards an action that will bring you peace. You can't find peace outside of yourself. If you ever wish to see a difference in your life you must look within.

5 easy ways to make your life more peaceful:

Some practices that I find super helpful to me, as a 23 year old looking for peace within mind, body, and spirit are:

Diet

I have been a vegan for three years and being a vegan has helped clear my conscious. It's helped me to see things clearer and to actually think for myself. Not only that, it helped me lose weight and maintain weight. There are just so many benefits to being vegan and you should just do your research. I think vegan-ism is becoming such a mainstream lifestyle now that you can pretty much find information on it anywhere! :)

Yoga

I'm gonna be honest here, meditation is something I can not do yet LOL. Whenever I have tried to meditate, my body always ends up stretching. So, I do yoga for now. When you do yoga, you inhale + exhale deeply into the stretch. This helps to bring oxygen into the body to create a more peaceful demeanor. There are so many benefits to this, just type in "benefits of yoga" in Google. If I don't do yoga when I wake up in the mornings, my head is in the clouds all day. I'm an Aquarius-Pisces, so I have to ground myself. Can anyone relate? LOL

Baths

This is such a delicious way to relax and just ground yourself and something not a lot of people do! I used to think that taking baths were "extra" LOL. Until I took a bath myself and discovered how serene it is. I take a bath once a week and in my bath I add magnesium chloride flakes (aura cleanser, body rejuvenator, etc.), essential oils (creates aromatherapy environment), rose petals—basically anything you can use to show yourself that you love you! This bath leaves me with so much peace afterwards—highly recommend.

Journaling

Journaling when I wake up has helped me to get out all the thoughts that clutter my mind in the mornings. This leaves me with a sense of peace in knowing that I let out what was bothering me. Creating gratitude lists is another helpful way to bring more peace into your life. Be grateful for what you have and you will be given more to be grateful for.

Solitude

Making sure I spend some time alone to be with my own energy and thoughts is extremely important to me. When spending time alone, we are able to reflect on whatever feelings or thoughts are bothering us. We're able to address, accept, surrender, and let go of what is causing us dis-harmony within.

These are a few practices that I have picked up recently and I have found them to be very helpful in raising my vibration and centering me. Often times, we live our day to day so focused on the external world. How about our internal world—how are you doing in there?

How can I maintain peace?

Now, I know that keeping the peace isn't as easy sometimes. We experience a lot throughout our day, from work, to kids, to traffic, etc. There is a lot of whirling energy out there and when we are not centered and grounded with ourselves, we will react to things not so positively.

This is where putting the practices above into practice will come in handy. :) I find that when I don't do the things I listed above, I tend to be more in my head, airy, low energy, and just not well.

It's important to move our bodies, nourish it, care for it, and love it. We were given only one body, one race horse, so let's care for ourselves the best we can.

Summary

Overall, I am a strong believer in self-love and self-care practices. They have been my biggest teachers lately since quitting my high stress job last month. I must say that taking care of ourselves and loving ourselves comes a lot easier with reduced stress.

A lot of people live their lives in stress and never even realize it. Implementing the practices I listed above in my life have helped me so much and have brought me so much inner peace and contentment. I feel like a new person every day and I wake up excited for what's to come because I choose to continue living out my life doing what makes me happy.
