Happy Mean Girls Day (Wednesday, October 3rd)! Yes, I am wearing pink and welcome to day fourteen of my self-discovery journal! I can't believe I'm two weeks in and thanks again for following along everyday! The quote for today is: "I'm not a very good writer but I'm an excellent rewriter."—James Michener

DAY FOURTEEN: WHAT DO I WISH I COULD MAKE MONEY DOING?

Ultimately, I would love to make money traveling the world with my daughter and going on wild adventures. I mean who wouldn't love to get paid to travel? But since that isn't an actual job or maybe I'm just not qualified enough for that job, I would love to make money writing books. In case no one has noticed yet, I love to write... and read. It's already a daily activity for me so it's not like it would even be hard to switch over to. Although, I'd probably have to increase how much I write each day.

My lifetime goal is to write the next series that is equivalently famous to the Harry Potter books. I want my writing to affect an entire generation. I want people to read my books and learn amazing things and fall in love with the world and the characters that I've created. I want thousands of people to look through my books and try to find separate meanings and create their own stories entirely based off of my characters. I would kill to stay at home all day and write. Even if I'm not necessarily writing a book series. I just want my writing to be out there and heard by someone.

I really don't think the people who read my articles religiously understand how much I appreciate it. I know I'm not writing for the New York Times or anything but it really means a lot to me that I actually have people who like my writing. Or at the very least, find my articles interesting. It brings me one step closer to my goal and if I ever get there, the followers that I have now will be the people that I thank. It really keeps me going to see my articles get views and the occasional tip. It makes me feel like it's not all for nothing. Like, maybe, just maybe, my writing is reaching someone and affecting them in a positive way. Even if they just enjoy reading my articles where I bitch about my daily problems.

But seriously, to stay home and have time to actually play with my daughter while still having enough time to sit down write would be my dream job. If I could spend a day with her, playing at the park and reading books with her. And spend my night writing and creating the perfect world for her to read about when she gets older and get paid for it, I would be living the dream. That would be the perfect job. Hands down, no question asked.

I'm a realist though. I know most writers don't make it big until after they die. I know I'll probably never sell 400 million copies of any book I write. But a girl can dream. I'll continue to dream and even though I'll probably never be the next J.K. Rowling, I'll continue to write as though I will be. I write every day of my life, and I don't think I'll ever stop doing that. I would love to get paid to write but for now, it remains my loving hobby.

My thoughts: I thought this was a decent question. Most people would probably like to be paid to do nothing. I think a better question would've been, "What's your dream job?" It forces you to pick an actual job rather than just getting paid to breathe. However, it's not a bad question. If you answer it seriously, it makes you look at what you truly enjoy doing. It may even make you rethink your career path.
